Smart Referral

The current way to visit a medical specialist requires the patient to  get a referral letter from a GP. All too often patients were being referred to specialists that were booked for months in advance, too far from work or home or simply just didn’t feel right. When they wanted to see another Specialist, or to get a second opinion they were required to trek back to their GP for a new referral letter and then recommence the entire process again.

There has to be a better way!

Wolf IQ was engaged to create a solution from concept to delivery (and everything in between).

Smart Referral needs to provide patients better access to specialists. It needs to improve the process of booking appointments and improve the user experience for everyone from patient, to GP,  to practice staff and the specialists.

Our solution

The key feature of the website enables patients to securely upload their referral letter and receive responses directly from medical specialist matching their requirements and location. Here’s how it works:

Step 1 – Upload

It takes minutes to upload a referral letter, remove your private information and select the type of specialist you need and your preferred location.

Step 2 – Review

All the specialists registered with Smart Referral matching your requirements respond with their next available consultation date and price and any applicable rebates.

Step 3 – Select

Within 48 hours you will receive your specialist responses. You can now choose your preferred specialist and confirm your appointment.

The above process takes approximately 5mins for both parties and ensures the patients are receiving more choice in their medical journey.

We also integrated a powerful directory to list all the medical specialists for patients to peruse. This is perfectly complimented by articles published by Specialists, discussing both the conditions that they treat and procedures that they offer.
